Shabbat in the Park, August 14, 2026, West Hills
CCKLA joined with synagogues and Jewish organizations across the region for Shabbat In The Park in August. Here’s a photo of Outreach volunteer Marcia at work representing us. Thank you to the volunteers who made this event a success and to the participants who stopped by at our table. We’re always looking for opportunities to educate about Chevra Kadisha traditions and services.

Whether you're new to Shmirah and Tahara, considering becoming a volunteer, or looking for a refresher, this hands-on training will introduce you to these sacred rituals as well as the role of the Chevra Kadisha.
The morning includes education, a demonstration, a tour of the Tahara facilities, and the opportunity to connect with experienced volunteers over light refreshments.
